  • NOTICE: Amended July 7, 2015. This amendment releases new text for C.19 the Hayabusa2 Participating Scientist Program. The old text has been totally replaced, the changes have not been tracked. However, the major changes are that the text now contains references to the Proposal Information Package and the roster for the Hayabusa2 Joint Science Team, both of which appear under "Other Documents" on the NSPIRES web page for this program element. The due date for Step-2 proposals is now October 5, 2015.
  • NOTICE: Amended on April 13, 2015. This amendment delays the due date for Step-2 proposals. Planetary Science Division personnel are working with NASA’s international partners on the Hayabusa2 mission to provide additional documents and information about the mission for proposers to use in writing Step-2 proposals. The new date for the Step-2 proposal deadline has not yet been determined, but it will be no less than four weeks after the additional information is provided. Until then, the Step-2 deadline for C.19 will be listed as TBD. At this time, NASA still anticipates that instrument scientist awards would receive funding starting in FY 2016, and the sample scientist awards would start with a small amount in FY 2017.
  • NOTICE: Appendix C.1 amended March 13, 2015. This amendment adds a requirement that investigators that would publish a geologic map through the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) would include in their Step-2 (full) proposals a letter of technical specifications from the USGS Map Coordinator (Section 4.4.1) and adds text describing how to determine to what program element a proposal that includes the publication of a geologic map should be submitted (Section 4.4.2). The requirement of the letter of technical specifications does not alter the requirements for the 15-page main body of the proposal to adequately explain and justify the work proposed. This Amendment does not alter the deadlines for any program element.
  • The description of the specific proposal opportunity on this page is contained in the document 'C.19 Hayabusa2 Participating Scientist'. This document is kept up to date and incorporates amendments, clarifications and corrections in a clearly identifiable manner.
  • ROSES-2015 is an omnibus NASA Research Announcement. It contains over 50 different proposal opportunities. In the "Announcement Documents" section above, the document 'Summary of Solicitation' describes the common requirements for all ROSES-2015 proposal opportunities; all proposers must satisfy the proposal requirements in the 'Summary of Solicitation'. The documents 'Table 2' and 'Table 3' contain the list of all proposal opportunities and their due dates. The document 'C.1 Planetary Science Research Program Overview' describes research activities within the NASA science division that is managing the specific proposal opportunity on this page. The document 'C.19 Hayabusa2 Participating Scientist' describes the specific proposal opportunity on this page. All of these documents are kept up to date and incorporate amendments, clarifications, and corrections in a clearly identifiable manner.
