• The NASA ARMD Research Opportunities in Aeronautics (ROA) 2008 NRA has been posted on the NSPIRES site. While this initial release of the ROA 2008 NRA only includes topics for the Supersonics Project, we expect to amend the NRA throughout the year to support other ARMD projects. In particular, we expect that there will be topics ready soon for the Integrated Intelligent Flight Deck Project as well as the release of the Fundamental Aeronautics Program’s “Advanced Concept Studies for Subsonic and Supersonic Commercial Transports Entering Service in the 2030-2035 Period” topic that was originally expected to be released in ROA 2007. Note there will be a slight overlap period when both ROA 2007 and ROA 2008 are open. It is expected that there will be no new amendments to ROA 2007 and new topics will be added to ROA 2008 instead.
• Amendment 7 to the NASA ARMD Research Opportunities in Aeronautics (ROA) 2007 NRA has been posted. This amendment includes new topics for Appendix C.3 (Next Generation Air Transportation System Air Traffic Management Airportal Project). We anticipate that additional amendments will be released in the future to add additional topics in other Project areas.
• A synopsis was released on 2/15/08 announcing plans to release the Research Opportunities in Aeronautics (ROA) - 2008 NRA. We expect that this solicitation will be ready during the first week of March or at a sometime soon after that. This soliciation (ROA 2008) is not posted at this time. We expect that there will be some overlap in the time that both ROA 2007 and ROA 2008 are open.
• Amendment 6 to the NASA ARMD Research Opportunities in Aeronautics (ROA) 2007 NRA has been posted. This amendment includes new topics for Appendix A.3 (Subsonic Rotary Wing Project). We anticipate that additional amendments will be released in the future to add additional topics in other Project areas.
• Amendment 5 to the NASA ARMD Research Opportunities in Aeronautics (ROA) 2007 NRA has been posted. This amendment includes a new Appendix E for cross program research. A new topic is included in Appendix E.2 (Integration of Advanced Concepts and Vehicles into the Next Generation Air Transportation System (NextGen)). We anticipate that additional amendments will be released in the future to add additional topics in other Project areas.
• Amendment 4 to the NASA ARMD Research Opportunities in Aeronautics (ROA) 2007 NRA has been posted. This amendment includes new topics for Appendix C.2 (NGATS ATM-Airspace Project) and Appendix D.2 (Facility Related Research under the Aeronautics Test Program). . We anticipate that additional amendments will be released in the future to add additional topics in other Project areas.
• Amendment 3 to the NASA ARMD Research Opportunities in Aeronautics (ROA) 2007 NRA has been posted. This amendment includes a new Appendix (A.6) for an Entry Descent and Landing (EDL) research area, which involves the Supersonics and Hypersonics Projects. We anticipate that additional amendments will be released in the future to add additional topics in other Project areas.
• Amendment 2 to the 2007 NASA ARMD Research Opportunities in Aeronautics (ROA) NRA has been posted. This amendment includes new research topics for Integrated Vehicle Health Management's Topic Area 5 (Data Mining and Information Analysis). The other topic areas in Appendix B.4 have not changed.
• Amendment 1 to the 2007 NASA ARMD Research Opportunities in Aeronautics (ROA) NRA has been posted. This amendment includes new research topics for Hypersonics (Appendix A.5).
• Posted 10/17/07: The Integrated Resilient Aircraft Control (IRAC) Project has received many high-quality proposals for the topics released in Research Opportunities in Aeronautics - 2007 (ROA - 2007). As a result, the Project expects to expend its budgeted funding for these topics. Consistent with the note under Tables 2 and 3 of section IX of the ROA - 2007 document , this posting announces that the Project does not intend to review any further proposals submitted under ROA-2007, June 8, 2007.
