• NOTICE: Amended January 28, 2025. The due dates for Step-1 and Step-2 proposals have been delayed: Step-1 proposals are now due February 25, 2025, and Step-2 proposals are now due May 20, 2025. Additionally, eligibility criteria have been added to Section 1, the eligibility of applicants for New NASA Investigators in Section 2.2.2 has been clarified, and in Section 3.2.2.3, the link for the BPS Data Management Policy has been replaced with the link for the BPS Data Management Webpage, that houses the policy document in question. New text is in bold and deleted text is struck through.
• NOTICE: Amended December 19, 2024. This amendment presents final text of this program element which was previously released as draft. Step-1 proposals are due February 4, 2025, and Step-2 proposals are due May 6, 2025. A pre-proposer’s townhall for applicants interested in submitting a proposal to this program element will be held virtually on January 22, 2025, at 3 pm Eastern Time connect information will appear on the NSPIRES page for this program element under "Other Documents." Proposals to this program element shall be submitted via a two-step process in which the Notice of Intent is replaced by a mandatory Step-1 proposal that must be submitted by an organization's Authorized Organizational Representative. Only proposers who submit a Step-1 proposal are eligible to submit a Step-2 proposal. Proposals will be evaluated using dual-anonymous peer review (DAPR) in which the identity of proposers will not be shared with reviewers until after the merit of the anonymized proposal has been evaluated, see Section 3.2.2. Proposers must use the new forms for Biographical Sketches and Current and Pending Support to ensure efficient processing of proposals for award. See Sections 3.2.3.2 and 3.2.3.3.

The document 'E.1 Biological and Physical Sciences Division Research Overview' describes research activities within the NASA science division that is managing the specific proposal opportunity on this page and may impose requirements upon proposals submitted to this program element. The document 'Summary of Solicitation' describes the common requirements for all ROSES-2024 proposal opportunities. The document 'Table 1' contains the proposal check list from the Summary of Solicitation. The documents 'Table 2' and 'Table 3' contain the list of all proposal opportunities and their due dates, sorted by (full or Step-2) proposal due date or appendix number, respectively. All of these documents are kept up to date and incorporate amendments, clarifications, and corrections in a clearly identifiable manner.
