  • September 3, 2024. The point of contact (POC) for C.20 Interdisciplinary Consortia for Astrobiology Research has changed. The new POC is Becky McCauley Rench, who may be reached at HQ-ICAR@mail.nasa.gov.
  • Clarified August 22, 2024. Section 3.3 "Step-1 Proposal Content and Submission Process" of C.20 Interdisciplinary Consortia for Astrobiology Research has been clarified to remind proposers that the references do not count against the 5-page limit for the technical / scientific section of the Step-1 proposal. New text is in bold. The proposal due dates remain unchanged: Step-1 proposals are due September 24, 2024, and Step-2 proposals are due January 16, 2025.
  • NOTICE: Amended July 22, 2024. This Amendment releases final text for this program element which was previously listed as TBD. Step-1 proposals are due September 24, 2024, and Step-2 proposals are due January 16, 2025. This program element uses a two-step proposal submission process in which funded team members may not be added after Step-1, and collaborators only with permission, see Sections 3.1 and 3.5. This program element differs from the default in ROSES and/or C.1 The Planetary Science Research Program Overview in several ways e.g., the page limits for the S/T/M sections of both Step-1 and Step-2 proposals, the required relevance statement, (see Section 2.6) and the separate Science Management Plan (Section 2.10). Proposals that violate these requirements may be returned without review. Please See Section 2 for a list of program specific requirements. Proposals submitted to this program will be evaluated using a dual-anonymous peer review process. See Section 3.2 and the associated "Guidelines for Anonymous Proposals" document under "Other Documents" on the NSPIRES page for this program element. Both Step-1 and Step-2 proposals must be anonymized. This program will employ a modified, more rigorous approach to the review of the "Expertise and Resources Not Anonymized" documents. Panel findings from the E&R evaluation will be provided to the selecting official and considered together with the findings from the merit evaluation of the anonymized proposal in making selection decisions. Participants on awards selected via this program element will become members of the Astrobiology Program Research Coordination Networks that are relevant to their selected research. For more information about these networks, see Section 2.7 of this program element.
  • The description of the specific proposal opportunity on this page is contained in the document 'C.20 Interdisciplinary Consortia for Astrobiology Research'. The document 'C.1 Planetary Science Research Program Overview' describes research activities within the NASA science division that is managing the specific proposal opportunity on this page and may impose requirements upon proposals submitted to this program element. The document 'Summary of Solicitation' describes the common requirements for all ROSES-2024 proposal opportunities. The document 'Table 1' contains the proposal check list from the Summary of Solicitation. The documents 'Table 2' and 'Table 3' contain the list of all proposal opportunities and their due dates, sorted by (full or Step-2) proposal due date or appendix number, respectively. All of these documents are kept up to date and incorporate amendments, clarifications, and corrections in a clearly identifiable manner.
