  • The TESS - Cycle 7 program is NOT soliciting new proposals. Only those Principal Investigators who have been accepted for observations and who have received a request for budget information should submit a proposal in accordance with the instructions in that letter. No other submissions will be considered.
  • NOTICE: Amended December 22, 2023. This amendment releases the final text for this program element that was previously 'TBD'. Phase-1 proposals are due by 4:30 pm Eastern time on March 21, 2024, via the Astrophysics Research Knowledgebase Remote Proposal System. TESS Cycle 7 includes the following changes from previous cycles: - TESS Cycle 7 observations will occur between October 2024 and September 2025, during the third year of the second TESS extended mission. - Cycle 7 observations will include parts of the Northern and Southern ecliptic poles, as well as the ecliptic plane. Section 1.2 shows the observability of targets for Cycle 7. - TESS General Investigator Proposals may include the use of archival data to support investigations using new data. At least 25% of the proposed work effort must require new data. - Key Projects are not solicited in this year, as Cycle 7 is the last year of the second TESS extended mission. - A 2-page Open Science and Data Management Plan is required, as described in Section 2.2.2. This separate section does not count toward the page limit for the Science/Technical/ Management section. As in previous years, Phase-1 proposals will be evaluated using a dual-anonymous peer review process. Thus, proposals must be prepared following the guidelines in Section 2.2.4 and in the associated "Guidelines for Anonymous Proposals" document.
  • The description of the specific proposal opportunity on this page is contained in the document 'D.10 TESS General Investigator - Cycle 7'. The document 'D.1 Astrophysics Research Program Overview' describes research activities within the NASA science division that is managing the specific proposal opportunity on this page and may impose requirements upon proposals submitted to this program element. The document 'Summary of Solicitation' describes the common requirements for all ROSES-2023 proposal opportunities. The document 'Table 1' contains the proposal check list from the Summary of Solicitation. The documents 'Table 2' and 'Table 3' contain the list of all proposal opportunities and their due dates, sorted by (full or Step-2) proposal due date or appendix number, respectively. All of these documents are kept up to date and incorporate amendments, clarifications, and corrections in a clearly identifiable manner.
