• May 1, 2024. Some organizations had difficulty submitting proposals on the evening of April 30th and NSPIRES may have been the cause. To give proposers extra time to address possible NSPIRES performance issues, the due date for this program has been deferred by one week to May 10. Please do not wait until the last day to submit, please plan to submit your proposal at least one day in advance of the new due date to avoid facing possible NSPIRES performance issues at the last minute. • April 29, 2024 – A correction has been made to Answer 58 in the FAQ on the right side of this page. The number of anticipated projects (7-9) and the annual program budget for all awards ($2M) have been changed to match the numbers given in Section 5 (Summary of Key Information) of the program element .

• February 26, 2024. Section 3.5 Foreign Participation has been added to address the case where the end user is affiliated with a foreign organization and thus may not be funded as a research investigator. New text is in bold and deleted text is struck through. The proposal due date is unchanged: Proposals are due May 3, 2024.
• Notice: Registration information for the March 1 pre-proposal teleconference has been posted under other documents on the right of this NSPIRES page
• NOTICE: Amended December 14, 2023. This Amendment presents a new program element in ROSES-2023. NOIs are requested by February 23, 2024, and proposals are due by May 3, 2024. Pre-proposal teleconference will take place at 1 pm Eastern Time on March 1, 2024. Connection information will be posted under other documents on the NSPIRES page for this program element by February 16, 2024. The S/T/M Section of proposals must include a schedule, see Section 4.1. This program element is participating in the Inclusion Plan Pilot Program, see Section 4.3. This required Inclusion Plan will not be part of the adjectival ratings nor selection recommendations for this opportunity.
